Statue of Mercury

Mercury Statue, a statue, after the antique by Thorvaldson.

A very fine Grand Tour marble statue of Mercury who is sitting aside a tree stump, holding a sword to his right, and with pipes in his left hand.

The original was purchased on a grand tour from an Italian studio for Burghley House.
